The Netherlands is holding a campaign to promote the first European Games in Baku, the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with Diaspora said on May 27.

Azerbaijani students of the Erasmus University are holding a campaign in connection with Baku’s first European Games in Rotterdam.

Togrul Eyvazov, chairman of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization, and Yusif Azimov, his deputy, have prepared a special presentation on the first European Games and Azerbaijan at the Erasmus University, where they study.

A video footage of the first European Games was first shown at the presentation prepared for nearly 120 university students from Europe, Asia and Africa.

Eyvazov and Azimov informed the participants about the European Games, as well as the preparation for them, the construction of large sports arenas, improvement work carried out in Azerbaijan.

The second part of the presentation showed the history, rich culture, monuments of Azerbaijan art and hospitality of the Azerbaijani people.

The Azerbaijani Youth Organization (Rotterdam) will continue a promotional campaign in connection with the first European Games in Baku.

Baku 2015 is the first-ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event that will take place on June 12-28, 2015.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
