Tehran, Iran, July 7

By Mehdi Sepahvand – Trend:

The foreign ministers of Iran and the member countries of the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) started their third plenary in Vienna, Austria.

This meeting follows another one which was held a day earlier where sides discussed remaining issues of difference and the ways to reach a comprehensive deal on Iran ’s nuclear program, IRIB news agency reported July 7.

Another plenary is also on the agenda for later in the day.

After the July 6 plenary, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. He said differences remain and attempt is being made to raise them.

The top Iranian diplomat has also held bilateral talks with the foreign ministers of the six powers during his current stay in Vienna.

The sides are working towards a July 7 deadline to wring a deal, which would on one side limit Iran ’s nuclear activities and on the other lift sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

A high-ranking delegation from the IAEA visited Tehran July 6 to discuss the ways to meet the international body’s concerns and pave the way for a political agreement between Tehran and the six powers.
