Roma have encountered another disappointment in the transfer market after they failed to reach an agreement with Torino regarding a transfer fee for long-term target Bruno Peres.
The Brazilian defender arrived in Turin from Santos for €2 million in the summer of 2014, but a strong debut Serie A season with the Granata significantly raised his market value as he became a key player for Il Toro.
According to La Stampa, Torino's president Urbano Cairo is reluctant to allow the Giallorossi to bring Peres' price tag down below €13m after having already made a compromise on the initial asking price of €20m .
Cairo has also apparently rejected all of Roma's attempts to reduce the fee by including players for exchange in their offers, prompting the Lupi to look at more affordable options, such as Barcelona's Adriano.
This news comes only days after La Stampa reported that Peres had ruled out a move to FC Porto and given his approval to a move to Rome's Stadio Olimpico.
Peres made 34 Serie A appearances for the Granata last season and scored three goals, his most memorable one coming off an end-to-end solo run in the derby against Juventus.
