“Turkey does not differentiate between terrorist organizations”

Baku – APA. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has left for China, has told reporters at the Esenboga airport that it’s impossible to continue working on the settlement process of the Kurdish issue with those who pose a threat to the country’s sovereignty.

“I was the prime minister and the party chairman when the process began. Regrettably, some abused this. It’s impossible to continue the peace process with those who harm our unity. What’s important is national unity. And the settlement process means that every citizen of the country will have their rights fulfilled. There can be no step back in this matter,” the president stressed.

Erdogan said the Turkish Republic is capable of calling to account anyone who supports terrorism.

“Turkey is capable of striving against any parallel state organization -- regardless of its name or ambition. The operation we are carrying out in northern Iraq is against those who threaten our national security. Turkey does not differentiate between terrorist organizations,” he noted.

The president mentioned that a buffer zone will be secured along the border with Syria. “We discussed this matter in detail with US president Barack Obama on the phone. That territory will be cleared of ISIS and 1.7 million Syrian refugees will be settled there”.

The Turkish president added that Turkey as a NATO member is supported by other countries that are members of this organization.
