All property of “Medi Sina” hospital, found guilty in death of critic Elnare Tofiggizi, was seized

Baku. Agha Jafarli – APA. The Baku Court of Appeal has today considered the appeal regarding the criminal case on the death of dean of the Baku Slavic University, critic Elnare Tofiggizi.

 

APA reports that the judgment was passed at the hearing presided over by judge Ikram Shirinov.

 

According to the judgment, as “Medi Sina” hospital acted criminally in the death of Elnare Tofiggizi, created conditions for murder being willing to conduct cancer surgery not licensed by the Ministry of Health, criminal case was launched against the hospital, presentation was sent to the Prosecutor General's Office. All property of “Medi Sina” hospital was seized. The hospital was also fined.

 

Note that, on September 20, E. Tofiggizi (1977) died during an operation on her mammary gland in Medi Sina hospital in Nasimi district.

 

A forensic medical examination made it clear that the anesthesiologist had not conducted a proper anesthetic operation on Tofiggizi. Consequently, the patient’s lung was malfunctioned and she died of respiratory insufficiency.

 

The Nasimi district prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on Article #314.2 (negligence committed on imprudence and entailed death of the victim or other heavy consequences) on September 25, 2014.
