Baku. Hafiz Heydarov - APA. Former judge of Baku Court of Grave Crimes Agababa Babayev, whose functioning several years ago was suspended due to the video clip, spread by rector of the Azerbaijan International University Elshad Abdullayev, passed away.

67-year-old Babayev, died yesterday in a hospital after a long illness, APA reports quoting Babayev’s relatives.

 

In his video address E.Abdullaev noted that in connection with the disappearance of his brother Mahir Abdullayev he had spoken with the judge of Baku Court of Grave Crimes Babayev Agababa. He argued that he took the conversation on the video, and then handed the record to the investigation commission under the Prosecutor's Office. According E.Abdullaeva recording was made in July of 2007.

 

Babayev stated that E.Abdullaev blackmails him. Judicial-Legal Council immediately reacted to the video and it was noted that the video not only damages the authority of the judiciary, the high rank of the judges, but also is evidence of a gross violation of the ethical code for judges, the legislation on the fight against corruption.

 

Judicial-Legal Council of Azerbaijan made a decision to initiate disciplinary proceedings against judge of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes Agababa Babayev. January 14, 2013, the powers of judge A.Babayev were suspended.
