Deputy Commander of the General Staff of Armed Forces of Iran Masoud Jazayeri has said those parts of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which would harm Iran’s defense power will not be implemented.
The hallucination of the enemies of the Islamic Republic about diminishing Iran ’s military power will not come true and there is not the smallest doubt in increasing Iran ’s military power, he said, ISNA news agency reported Oct. 5.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran and the regional resistance has many times been threatened by the US and Israel. Therefore we must add to our military power in order to secure our national security. This is something that will be overshadowed by nothing else,” he stressed.
“We have clear plans for after the JCPOA,” he said, adding, “Our missiles will soon roar.”
Iran Army Commander Ataollah Salehi has said the country will meet no limitation regarding its missile system.
There are speculations that the JCPOA contains parts that restrict Iran ’s military program, missile capabilities in particular. Some parties in Iran worry that the terms of the deal are arranged so as to weaken the country militarily. But Tehran has always emphasized that it will not overlook its need to have a powerful military.
