Seven militants of the “Islamic State” terrorist organization have been detained in Istanbul, Haber7 TV channel reported Nov.12 citing the law enforcement agencies.
All the detainees are foreigners. No other information regarding them is available.
Earlier, over 20 IS members were detained in Antalya, which will host the summit of the leaders of the G20 member states soon.
Moreover, 41 Moroccan citizens were detained at the international airport of Istanbul on suspicion of having ties with the IS.
Ankara has repeatedly stated that the “Islamic State” is a real threat for the region, including Turkey.
Turkey was hit with two explosions, the death toll of which reached 97 people, over 240 people got injured on Oct. 10. At the time, Turkey's National Intelligence Organization said the IS stood behind the attack.
