The Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company has completed the overhaul of the Mahmud Rahimov dry cargo vessel, the company has said.
According to the statement, the vessel was being repaired at the Zikh shipyard since May.
"The underwater and above-water parts of the vessel were cleaned and painted,” the statement said. “The cabins, equipped with furniture and modern equipment, were refurbished. The corroded metal coating was replaced on the decks, hull and cargo holds. The main and additional engines, life-saving appliances, ballast, air, water, fuel and fire-prevention systems were overhauled."
Moreover, the company inspected the electrical equipment, including power generators, radio navigation devices and cable lines.
The Mahmud Rahimov dry cargo vessel with a capacity of 4,100 tons will be used for cargo transportation in the Caspian Sea basin after its commissioning.
