The SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is drilling a new well on the Chilov field for additional 2,000 tons of oil per year, said the message of SOCAR.
The message said that the project depth of the well No.115 is 1,500 meters and the daily debit accounts for 5 tons of oil.
SOCAR is drilling both onshore and offshore fields in Azerbaijan to implement a program to stabilize and increase oil production.
In January-October 2015, SOCAR produced 6.91 million tons from the onshore and offshore fields in the country versus 7.01 million tons of oil in the same period of 2014.
In 2014, SOCAR produced more than 8.32 million tons versus 8.31 million tons in 2013. In 2014 in total, some 42.4 million tons were produced in Azerbaijan versus 43.5 million tons in 2013.
