Turkey is ready to render any necessary support to Azerbaijan, the Turkish embassy in Azerbaijan said Dec. 6.
Turkey is always close to the Azerbaijani people, the statement said.
The Turkish embassy also expressed its condolences concerning the fire on SOCAR’s platform No10 at Guneshli field.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced a day of mourning Dec. 6 in memory of those died in the accident and the fire on SOCAR’s offshore platform.
The ignition started on Dec.4 at the platform No.10 of this field, where the Azerbaijani SOCAR company produces oil and gas through its own funds.
SOCAR said that the fire at the platform was caused by the windstorm, which damaged a gas line.
Some 32 people have been rescued, while 30 people are considered missing.
