The former head of the Azerbaijan State Flag Square Complex Department Rashad Mammadov will file an appeal to court, Mammadov’s lawyer Fakhraddin Mehdiyev told Trend Dec.10.
The appeal is due to the fact that the preventive measure in the form of arrest chosen against him by the country’s Sabail district court was extended for another three months, Mehdiyev said.
He said that Mammadov considers extension of the arrest unreasonable.
“I spoke about this with Mammadov,” said the lawyer. “He believes extension of the arrest is completely unreasonable. We have already prepared an appeal, which will soon be submitted to court.”
Mehdiyev said that Mammadov is kept in normal conditions and he has no complaints about it.
Mammadov was arrested May 12 and a preventive measure in the form of arrest for three months was chosen against him by the Sabail district court of Azerbaijan. Subsequently, the arrest was extended for another three months. A criminal case under article 178.3.2 (swindle with causing damage in large size) was initiated in his regard.
Currently, he is being kept in the investigative isolation ward of the Azerbaijani ministry of national security.
