The issue of the visa regime liberalization for Georgia and Ukraine will not be discussed at the Council of the EU Foreign Ministers December 14, said a source close to the leadership of the EU.
The European Commission is expected to present a report on the implementation of the visa liberalization program by Kiev on December 15.
For the introduction of a visa-free regime with EU, the Verkhovna Rada (Supreme Council of Ukraine) was to pass a number of bills, but not all of them were adopted and there were amendments to a part of them, which now require an examination by the EC.
“The report of the European Commission concerning Georgia and Ukraine and visa liberalization must be submitted on December 15, which comes after the Council of the EU Foreign Ministers, so we do not plan to discuss the issue at the council,” the source said.
