Creation of the State Security Service and Foreign Intelligence Service of Azerbaijan on the basis of the National Security Ministry has made the issue of further activities of the ministry’s employees topical, said Arzu Naghiyev, who had worked Azerbaijani security bodies for a long time.
Naghiyev said that when such structural changes take place, the entire staff leaves until further notice and is returned during the formation of a new structure.
“Practice shows that those who deserve it, who do their job well, those people who have experience in intelligence and counterintelligence service, are returned to the staff,” said Naghiyev.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to create the State Security Service and Foreign Intelligence Service of Azerbaijan Dec.14.
Employees of the National Security Ministry will leave until further notice in the coming days.
