Abbas Aliabadi, the head of Iran’s MAPNA Group, has claimed that his company managed to export a number of its products to the American company General Electric.
He said there is fierce competition in power industry in the world, IRNA news agency reported Dec. 15.
Aliabadi, who was addressing a conference on combined cycle plants, namely V94.2, said the group is developing its plans.
According to him, the company plans to provide its customers in Iran and abroad with after-sale-services.
Iran’s power generation capacity currently stands at around 74,000 MW, of that some 12,000 MW is generated by hydroelectric power plants, 1,000 MW by nuclear power plants and the remaining is produced by thermal power plants.
According to the latest annual report, Iran’s capacity of producing renewable energy stands at 232 megawatts, 0.31 percent of the country’s total power generation capacity.
Iranians consumed about 219 billion kilowatt hour of power between March 2014 and March 2015.
MAPNA is a group of Iranian companies involved in development and execution of thermal and renewable power, oil & gas, railway transportation and other industrial projects, as well as manufacturing main equipment including gas and steam turbines, electrical generator, turbine blade and vane, HRSG and conventional boilers, electric and control systems, gas compressor, locomotive and other pertinent equipment.
The company was initially named Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA), but changed its title to MAPNA Group in October 2012.
