The CIS Executive Committee based in Minsk has held a summarizing meeting of the Permanent Representatives of CIS states with the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Executive Committee, CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev.
Thirteen meetings of permanent representatives of the Council were held in 2015. These meetings discussed more than 30 issues related to the formation of draft agendas of CIS higher bodies of the Commonwealth, cooperation, the implementation of the documents adopted by the organization. The meetings also addressed the issues of appointing heads of the CIS Observation Mission for the presidential and parliamentary elections in the member states of the Commonwealth.
Departments of CIS Executive Committee participated in the preparation of all issues submitted to the Council, information on the results of the meetings and decisions was regularly posted on the Executive Committee’s website and CIS’ Internet portal.
During the 14th meeting, Permanent Representatives discussed a draft work plan of the Council for 2016 and stressed the necessity to improve its efficiency.
In the coming year chairmanship in the CIS will pass from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan. In this regard, permanent representative of Kazakhstan Yergali Bulegenov summed up the presidency of his country in the Commonwealth in 2015.
In addition, members of the Council of permanent representatives received proposals on the draft agenda of the next meeting of CIS Foreign Ministers Council due in Moscow on April 8, 2016. The draft agenda of the meeting will be formed next February.
The next meeting of permanent representatives will be held on January 19, 2016.
