Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil oil transportation company has named Nurtas Shmanov as its new head.
Shmanov has been working in Kazakhstan’s transport sphere for over 36 years. He has held high-ranking positions in Transneft, Tengizchevroil, Caspian Pipeline Consortium - Russia, Chevron Oil & Gas and other companies.
Shmanov served as the director general (chairman of the board) of KazTransOil from December 2007 to January 2009.
Earlier, the company’s director general Kayrgeldi Kabildin was dismissed from the post, upon his own wish.
KazTransOil is the subsidiary of Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGas national oil and gas company, the national operator of the main oil pipeline. The company manages the network of main oil pipelines stretching 5,400 kilometers.
