At least 19 people including seven children and eight women were injured on Tuesday in an apparent cylinder explosion at a hospital in Saidu Sharif, according to Pakistan Today.
According to sources, the incident took place in Saidu Sharif hospital in Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where an oxygen cylinder exploded in the medical facility’s children ward.
The injured were immediately provided medical treatment and are said to be out of danger.
Most of them suffered burn injuries, doctors said, and the powerful blast shattered windowpanes of the ward.
About nature of the explosion, hospital administration claimed it was an oxygen cylinder blast, adding they were probing actual causes of the incident.
