Baku, December 23, AZERTAC
Launched in 2012, the terminal for the receipt and discharge of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), stands as one of the most successful projects the SOCAR Group has undertaken. The unit is designed for the transshipment of liquefied petroleum gases with further delivery to the destination points via the LPG carriers. All operations for the receipt and discharge of liquefied petroleum gases are controlled via a local and remote-control room, using the SCADA automated control system.
Up until now, only two grades of cargo had been dispatched by the LPG terminal: Propylene and BBF (Butylene butadiene fraction). Today, BST is now transshipping a new grade of cargo called Technical BUTANE (LPG). The first parcel of which, was successfully loaded onto the vessel Power S with no time quality or quantity loss.
This new step will enable Kulevi Oil Terminal to become a more important player in the global oil market.
