Baburnama or Memoirs of Babur, is considered a novel, a historic document, and is the remarkable story of Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur (1483-1530), a descendant of the Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan and the Turkic conqueror Tamerlane.
Baburnama depicts miniature paintings of battlefield, landscapes, birds and animals. The Baburnama tells the tale of the prince's struggle first to assert and defend his claim to the throne of Samarkand.
There is much on the political and military struggles of his time but also extensive descriptive sections on the physical and human geography, the flora and fauna, nomads in their pastures and urban environments enriched by the architecture, music and Persian and Turkic literature.
Babur wrote the Memoirs in Chaghatai Turkic and this was later translated by his grandson Akbar into Persian, later the Memoirs were translated into other languages.
The exhibition will last till early February 2016.
