Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 28

Turkey’s split into mini-states and the creation of independent Kurdistan in Turkey are a utopia, Ibrahim Kalin, the spokesman for the Turkish presidential administration, said, TRT Haber TV channel reported Dec. 28.
“No one will be able to divide Turkey,” he said. “The opposition Peoples' Democratic Party is actively cooperating with the Kurdistan Workers' Party and advocates it.”
Earlier, the leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party Selahattin Demirtas said that independent Kurdistan will be created in Turkey sooner or later.
Turkish media reported that a number of Turkish MPs from the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party may be deprived of deputy immunity.
The reason is that a number of MPs from the Peoples' Democratic Party are sympathetic with the PKK and supports the actions of this organization, banned in Turkey.
The Justice and Development Party garnered 49.41 percent of votes in the parliamentary election held in Turkey Nov. 1.
Republican People's Party (CHP) gathered 25.38 percent of votes, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) – 11.93 percent, Democratic People's Party (HDP) – 10.7 percent.
PKK attacks on the military units and police stations have become more frequent in south-eastern Turkey in recent months.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.
The UN and the European Union listed the PKK as a terrorist organization.
