Official rate of Uzbekistan’s national currency, the som, set by the country’s central bank, reduced by 16 percent against the US dollar in 2015 – from 2422.40 soms/$1 as of January 1, 2015 to 2809.98 soms/$1 as of January 1, 2016.
Uzbek som’s rate against the US dollar reduced by 10 percent in 2014 - from 2202.20 soms/$1 to 2422.40 soms/$1, and by 10.9 percent in 2013 – from 1985.46 sum/$1 to 2202.20 sum/$1.
It was previously reported that the som’s devaluation rates versus US dollar accelerated in Uzbekistan since early October.
The som’s rate to US dollar dropped by 2.2 percent in October 2015, by 2.7 percent in November, and by 2.2 percent in December.
