The "2nd Global Forum on Emergency Telecommunications (GET-2016): SAVING LIVES" will take place in Kuwait City, Kuwait, from 26-28 January 2016. The GET-2016 is organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and hosted by the Government of Kuwait.
According to information provided by ITU, GET-2016 serves as an international platform to discuss international Emergency Telecommunication policy and disaster risk reduction topics. It will feature discussions on pertinent topics such as disaster preparedness, the Smart Sustainable Development Model initiative, the role of partnerships and financing, alongside country case studies and new developments in technology and innovation.
The Forum will bring together delegates from all over the world, ranging from Government Ministers to Regulators, national disaster management stakeholders, lead academicians, private sector leaders, United Nations entities and non-governmental organizations.
