By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

Development of bilateral cooperation, undertaken in the framework of the "Science for Peace and Security" (SPS) program, was discussed at a meeting at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan with Rosaria Pulizi, NATO’s employee for cooperation and collaboration with the countries of Central Asia, said the message of Turkmen government Jan. 15.

The parties called the issues on prevention of natural disasters and combating emergency situations one of the priorities of cooperation.

A regional expert conference titled "Peace and stability in Central Asia and Afghanistan: a view of neutral Turkmenistan" was held last year in Ashgabat, in cooperation with NATO.

Turkmenistan adopted a military doctrine, the essence of which remained unchanged in recent years, namely - the defense sufficiency, a policy of positive neutrality and refusal to participate in any military-political blocs.

Turkmenistan’s cooperation with NATO is carried out exclusively within the framework of long-term program, which is designed to assist countries in resolving the problems in the field of environmental protection and human health protection.
