Chief Executive Officer of Sweden`s TT News Agency Jonas Eriksson has been elected as president of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) for a two year term at its General Assembly in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Chief Executive Officer of Portugal's LUSA news agency Teresa Marques was elected as a member of the EANA Board for a three year term.
CEO of British Press Association Clive Marshall chaired the organization from 2014 to 2016.
The News Agencies World Council also held a session in Bratislava to discuss preparations for the 5th News Agencies World Congress to be held in Baku on November 15-18.
AZERTAC's Director General Aslan Aslanov, chairman of the Council Clive Marshall and vice-president of German DPA agency Peter Kropsch reviewed the agenda of the congress.
The Council's next meeting will be held in Baku.
