Baku, October 5, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan’s state-owned company SOCAR has closed its official representative office in Vienna (Austria), Head of the office Gulmirza Javadov said on October 4 in a letter sent to the media.
The letter states that the closing of representation is related to the reforms and restructuring in SOCAR.
“Due to the restructuration in the company, the representative office in Vienna and other offices of SOCAR in relevant countries have been liquidated and are no longer functional,” the letter reads. “However, the offices of SOCAR Trading company, as well as foreign ‘daughters’ of SOCAR, will continue the normal operation.”
The decision to suspend the activities of all foreign representations of SOCAR was made back in December 2015.
