A unique experiment on wireless energy transmission at a distance of 1.5 kilometers in the atmosphere took place on Friday evening, at 19.00 in a closed area of Rocket-space Corporation Energia in Korolev, Moscow region.

According to the engineer RKK “Energy” Vitaly Kapranov, who gave an interview to TV channel “Russia-24”, this was the first experiment conducted in Russia under difficult circumstances: a beam of energy passed just a few meters above the roofs of the buildings, accurately hitting the target phone. To charge the cell phone began almost from the first seconds, however, doing it a bit slower than from a conventional electric outlet.
In the future, according to Kapranov, so you can charge not only phones, but also electric cars. Distance in this case can be reduced to 50-100 meters and to increase capacity. More the main objective is remote recharging of drones. This will be achieved in about a year.
