The joint construction works on the maritime part of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline will begin in the second half of 2017. Alexei Miller, the CEO of Russian gas company Gazprom, stated, according to “ria.ru”.

‘Today, we can surely say that the construction works of the maritime part of the Turkish stream will begin in the second half of 2017. Both lines will be operational by late 2019,’ Miller said. According to him, currently the sides are working on technical and economic evaluations of entry points of the Stream to EU countries.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ratified the bill for the Turkish Stream project agreement between Turkey and Russia and it entered into force.

The Turkish Stream project, whose intergovernmental agreement between Turkey and Russia was signed on October 10 in Istanbul, will supply gas to Europe via Greece.
