Baku, December 9, AZERTAC

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population hosted a meeting with the experts of International Labor Organization (ILO) Valentin Mocanu and Roman Litvyakov who visit Azerbaijan.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Ministry, the aim of the ILO experts’ visit is holding a training to improve labor inspection efficiency, to analyze legal and institutional framework for tripartite working group comprising social partner representatives (Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation and National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers').

Chairman of the State Labor Inspectorate Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population Fuad Alizade informed about the improvements based on the international norms of progressive labor policies in Azerbaijan, the work done in the field of protection of labor rights. At his words, during eleven months of this year the system was used for 1. 925. 253 times and 203 628 times in the last month.

V. Mocanu and R. Litvyakov expressed their satisfactions with the joint cooperation.

As part of the event, it will be launched a two-year training program for Tripartite Working Group, including several workshops on translation of ILO materials into national language, development and implementation of occupational safety rules and improvement plan of labor legislation, promotion of social dialogue, international labor standards, gender equality and prevention of discrimination, and other topics.
