A magnitude 6.0 earthquake has struck off the coast of Makira Island in the South Pacific's Solomon Islands, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said Sunday, according to Ria Novosti.
No casualties or damage to structures has so far been reported.
The Solomon Islands archipelago is located in the so-called Ring of Fire quake zone where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
