The European Investment Bank (EIB) is interested in "Absheron" Project, said Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, as he met with the delegation led by the Total’s Senior Vice President for exploration & production in Europe & Central Asia, Michael Borrell.
Mr. Borrell also stressed that due to the special attractiveness of the region, Total has also appointed Bernard Clement the Vice President for Continental Europe & the Caspian Region. He pointed out that with the November’s signing of the work program with SOCAR on the development of gas field Absheron, Total will begin production there in the coming years.
In turn, Minister Aliyev, underlined the importance of Company’s participation in the 3rd meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Consultative Council (Baku, 23 February 2017). The Minister also considers Total’s participation in other projects as well, including the development of offshore field Babak in the Caspian Sea.
Azerbaijani minister said the Ministry would provide necessary support to Mr. Bernard Clement in his future activities.
