Istanbul, February 20, AZERTAC
Head of Turkey-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Necdet Unuvar has condemned a so-called “referendum” held by the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia. He said the “referendum” is a step against international law, UN Security Council and OSCE principles. “Holding the referendum a few days before the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide once again shows evil intentions of Armenians. And this move is a powerful blow to peace talks,” Unuvar said. “Results of this illegal "referendum" will not be recognized by Turkey,” he added.
