The ceremony was attended by members of the Turkish Parliament, influential politicians, journalists, NGO leaders and representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Ankara.
Addressing the event, Federation Chairman Kenan Macit said the 2014 awards for different categories were determined by the influential jury.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was awarded the International Friendship and Peace Prize for his achievements in all areas in recent years. It was also noted that Azerbaijan, pursuing a coherent foreign policy, made considerable economic progress and singed a number of agreements in the field of international strategic partnership.
The prize was handed to the adviser of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara Jeyhun Zeynalov.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama were also given the International Friendship and Peace Prize.
