Tehran, Iran, May 10

By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:

Over 200 Iranian MPs signed an announcement criticizing the US government's approach to the nuclear talks with Iran.

"The use of the language of threat in the diplomacy of scream is an offshoot of fear," a line from the announcement reads.

"In the same way that quitting the NPT is despicable for countries, some of the IAEA inspections are also detrimental to the NPT. Therefore, adherence to these systems should be seen in the outcome of the talks," the announcement further said, Fars news agency reported May 10.

The MPs considered it as a disgrace for the US government for using a threatening language at a time when the US has time and again urged holding talks.

The MPs further obliged the Iranian government to seek the approval of the parliament on any possible agreement reached with the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) on Iran's nuclear program.

This comes as an answer to the move by the US Congress where the congressmen secured themselves a say on the deal beyond the conventional privileges of the US government.

Iran and the six powers are holding talks aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program. They have imposed a deadline of June 30 on the talks.
