Baku - APA. The issues that were discussed at the meeting held by U.S. President Barack Obama on Aug.5 in the White House with the representatives of 10 media outlets have been made public.
APA reports quoting Huffington Post that one of the topics discussed at the meeting was Turkey's military operations against the PKK and IS terrorist organizations. In response to reporters' questions whether the operations cause to concerns or not, Obama said: “Negotiations with Turkey are underway on the threat posed by the IS to the peace and order in the region and its settlement. Turkey has the right to defend itself against PKK attacks. However, the most important issue is ISIS, as well as preventing foreigners’ joining to IS passing through Turkey’s borders. The main target of Turkey’s operations should be ISIS not the PKK. All efforts should focus on it.”
According to Huffington Post, 10 reporters attended the meeting.
