Baku – APA. “Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev was seriously concerned over the information about the beating of the Ann.az website’s employee Rasim Aliyev, who died from his injuries,” said the Azerbaijani President's Aide for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov, APA reports.
He said that Azerbaijani President regarded this fact as a threat to freedom of speech and information, independent activities of mass media outlets in the country and noted that ensuring media freedom which is an essential ingredient of democratic principles is one of the priority tasks of the Azerbaijani state.
The head of state took the investigation under his personal control, said Hasanov.
