Azerbaijan will continue to support the peacekeeping operations of the United Nations, the country’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said.
He made the remarks addressing the Peacekeeping Summit in New York, US, Sept.29, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
Mammadyarov said that however, in order to ensure peace and stability, peacekeeping operations are not enough.
For this purpose, the states need to fulfill their obligations arising from the international law, in particular those related to the respect for independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty, the foreign minister added.
