FEMMES DIGITALES to report on its first year’s activity at IE Venture Day Baku

Azerbaijani Women in ICT Club “FEMMES DIGITALES” will hold a joint session with IE Venture Day Baku on December 3rd 2015 in Baku. The session will be in format of panel discussion and cover the topic of the women’s role in the development of ICT and related startup projects. The participants of the session will share their success stories, discuss the reasons of low involvement of women in ICT and stereotypes in the society in this connection, and touch upon many other interesting subjects.
Among the speakers will be the founders of FEMMES DIGITALES – Sabina Parvizi, marketing manager of Microsoft Azerbaijan, Jana Krimpe, founder and director of B.EST Solutions LLC, Zara Apetrei Huseynova, founder and director of WOWOMEN (ALZA) as well as Irina Rubis, CEO Ukrainian media house – Ekonomika Communication Hub and co-creator of the project for moms in business womo.com.ua, and Annika Ljas, chief marketing officer of the biggest tech conference “Lattitude59” and promoter of Estonian “e-Residency” government startup.
During the event the club FEMMES DIGITALES will also celebrate the first anniversary of its activity – a year ago on this date an official opening ceremony of the Club took place within the framework of 20th BakuTel exhibition & conference. The founders of the Club will report on the activity of the Club for the past year especially focusing on the efforts taken towards educational campaigns among girls and women and measures implemented with the aim to raise the women’s academic and professional interest in ICT. During the past period a lot has been done by the founders and members of the Club; in particular the Club managed to set up efficient dialogue with the local ICT companies aiming to provide new career opportunities for Azerbaijani girls and women. The participants of the conference will also be able to meet with the successful Azerbaijani business women occupying leading positions in the local ICT sector, familiarize with their success stories and get information about ways and methods required for launching successful IT startups.
