US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz underlined that there are no concerns about Iran’s activities in relation to nuclear weapons or activities in the fuel cycle within the framework of nuclear agreement with the world powers, IRNA reported.
“We are committed to remove the nuclear sanctions and I should reiterated that nuclear sanctions and not other sanctions in relation to other issues will be removed in January when the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirms that Iran has fulfilled all its commitments which are of course difficult commitments and necessities,” Moniz told CNN in an interview on Thursday.
“Our agreement is that they should restrict their nuclear program to a considerable extent in lieu of reducing the nuclear sanctions,” the US secretary of state said.
On Thursday, Iran's representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi said that deputy director general of the agency had said that from view point of the IAEA the road map ended and there is no need for new moves and a second road map.
Najafi told reporters that deputy head of the agency in safeguards affairs following meeting of programming and budget committee presented report on the final assessment on Iran's nuclear program past and now remaining problems.
He added that Varjoranta by explaining different sections of the report underlined that from agency view points the road map has ended and there is no need for new moves or the second road map.
Director General of IAEA Yukiya Amano presented his report on Iran's past and present nuclear program to Board of Governors on Wednesday evening.
Deputy Foreign Minister for legal and international affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi in reaction to the new report of Amano said that final assessment report of the agency about Iran's past problems called PMD indicated that there is no sign for a military nuclear program or deviation in nuclear materials and peaceful nuclear program has been proven and now is time for Group 5+1 to close the issue in board of governors.
He underlined that the agency in its report had referred to Iran's full cooperation with the agency upon the road map, so the cooperation made the agency able to present its final assess on PMD.
