Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 9

By Temkin Jafarov – Trend:

Seven Iranians were killed in Syria during the fights against the IS (ISIS, ISIL or Daesh), Iranian news agency ISNA reported Dec. 9.

There, however, hasn’t been any report about the identities of those killed. It hasn’t been revealed in what region of Syria they were killed either.

Reportedly, all those killed were buried in the city of Qom in Iran.

In recent months, Iran’s IRGC has lost about 50 of its servicemen in Syria.

Iran has several times declared that its servicemen are in Syria to provide consultations to that country’s army and people.

The Islamic Republic is also involved in protection of shrines in Syria.
