“Korea is in interested in strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan in the areas of the development of the non-oil sector, modernization of the infrastructure and the expansion of application of information and communication technologies.”
This statement was made by Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of the Republic of Korea Kim Hong-kyun during his meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov. During the meeting Kim Hong-kyun stressed the importance of discussions held at the international level. He said the stability in the country has been attained thanks to the successful policy that have been conducted in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
“As a result of this policy, excellent conditions for economic development have been created in the republic. The trade turnover between the two countries has significantly increased during the last 10 years. Therefore, Korea is strongly interested in further developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in in the areas of the development of the non-oil sector, modernization of the infrastructure and the expansion of application of information and communication technologies,” Kim Hong-kyun said.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening the legal-agreement base for further development of bilateral relations.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov, in turn, highlighted the benefit of such visits in terms of discussion of various aspects of bilateral relations. He underlined successfully developing political, economic, humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and stressed the role of reciprocal official visits in deepening bilateral relations. Khalaf Khalafov said that continuing the political consultations would contribute to development of cooperation. On bilateral economic ties, the Deputy Foreign Minister expressed the country`s keenness to increase the making investment of Korean companies in Azerbaijan.
