Ambassador of Belarus Gennadiy Akhramovich has visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
Azerbaijani people on December 12 commemorate the 12th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
In an interview with local media, Akhramovich said: “The heads of the diplomatic missions of CIS member states unanimously supported the proposal to commemorate Heydar Aliyev. This great man will remain in the memory of our peoples forever. He was an example of selfless service to the people and the state”.
The Ambassador of Belarus quoted Heydar Aliyev as saying: "It is difficult to obtain independence , but it is even harder to retain and strengthen it."
Then the Ambassador laid flowers on the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
