A letter sent by the US Secretary of State John Kerry to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif says that Washington is strongly committed to the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA,)Abbas Araqchi, chairman of the JCPOA Follow-up Headquarters said.

Writing on his Instagram page, Araqchi described Kerry's letter as a move not to hurt implementation of the JCPOA which is expected for next few days, IRNA reported.

The US Congress voted to tighten restrictions on travel to the United States by citizens of 38 nations who are allowed to enter the country without obtaining a visa, foreign media reported.

The measure would require visitors from the visa waiver countries, which include much of western Europe, to obtain a visa to travel to the United States if they had been to Syria, Iraq, Iran or Sudan during the past five years.

However, Kerry in his letter has assured the Iranian Foreign Ministry that the US new program will not hurt the successful implementation of the agreement, added Araqchi.

'I want to confirm to you that we remain fully committed to the sanctions lifting provided for under the JCPOA. We will adhere to the full measure of our commitments, per the agreement. Our team is working hard to be prepared and as soon as we reach implementation day, we will lift appropriate sanctions,' Kerry has said in his letter.
