The activity of the Turkish Gersan Elektrik company, a manufacturer of electrical equipment, has been suspended in Russia, said the message of the Turkish state body on public alert (Kamuoyunu Aydınlatma Platformu - KAP) posted Dec.21 on its website.
Gersan Elektrik operates in Turkey since 1985 and is one of the leading companies in the production of electrical equipment.
The activities of the company, which was operating in the market of Russia’s Kaliningrad region, was suspended for two months due to violation of norms of the Russian legislation on protection of the environment by Gersan Elektrik.
Relations between Moscow and Ankara deteriorated significantly after the Turkish Air Force shot down a Russian Su-24 bomber in Turkey’s airspace Nov. 24.
Earlier, Moscow’s envoy in Ankara Andrei Karlov said Turkey should meet three conditions for normalization of relations with Russia.
“Turkey should apologize to Russia over the incident involving the downed aircraft,” he said said.
He noted that the other two conditions are finding and punishing the perpetrators of the incident involving the plane, and compensating for the damage to the Russian side.
After the incident, the Turkish foreign ministry said that Turkey will not pay compensation for the downed Russian plane.
