Azerbaijan sends humanitarian aid to Tajikistan (PHOTO, VIDEO)

Azerbaijan has sent humanitarian aid to Tajikistan which was hit by a strong earthquake Dec.7, the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations told Trend.

The earthquake that hit Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region has led to human loss and destruction.

The humanitarian aid was sent Dec.27 in accordance with the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The humanitarian aid valued at 800,000 manats which was sent by ferry from Baku International Sea Trade Port, consists of 9.5 tons of sugar, 9.5 tons of granulated sugar, 15 tons of rice, three tons of tea, over 16 tons of vegetable oil, 19 tons of flour, 19 tons of macaroni, over 18 tons of vermicelli, 2,000 sets of bed linen, 50 generators, 110 tents, 6,000 square meters of iron slate and 30 cubic meters of boards.

The ceremony of sending the humanitarian aid was attended by Azerbaijan’s deputy minister of emergency situations Faig Taghizade and first secretary of Tajikistan’s embassy in Azerbaijan Salimi Khatloni.
