Eight people have died as a result of swine flu in Turkey since early 2016, Turkish Health Minister Mehmet Muazzinoglu said, the Turkish TRT Haber TV channel reported Jan. 6.

The minister said that in general, these are people older than 60.

According to the Turkish Health Ministry, some 181 people died as a result of swine flu in the country in 2015.

A / H1N1 virus was revealed in Mexico, the US and Canada in late March 2009, where the first fatal cases were registered. The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the flu pandemic in April 2009, gradually raising the level of threat. The immediate actions on the global vaccination against this virus were taken.

According to the WHO, more than 19,000 H1N1 flu-related death cases were registered worldwide.

The infected people were revealed in more than 200 countries.
