“The people of Azerbaijan supported the results of the referendum, which reflected their will,” said President Ilham Aliyev as he addressed a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on results of socio-economic development in nine months of 2016 and objectives for the future.
“International organizations that monitored the voting, especially representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, highly appreciated the referendum. This is very important because usually European institutions criticize us.”
President Ilham Aliyev said Azerbaijan is moving forward on the path of democracy. “We hold free elections, we hold referendums in a transparent manner. We can be an example for many countries, especially those who consider themselves cradle of democracy. Let them come and study our experience,” the President added.
