Nakhchivan hosts series of events on 25th anniversary of restoration of state independence

The 25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan has been widely marked in every part of the country, including Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic under the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's instructions.

On October 18, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov visited a Monument to a Mother, the graves of those who gave their lives in the struggle for independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and a monument to Turkish soldiers who came to the aid of Nakhchivan and were martyred in these lands in the fight against the Armenian dashnaks in 1918-1920. Vasif Talibov then laid flowers at the statue of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev in the central square in the city of Nakhchivan.

Then the event on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the restoration of state independence was held at the National Flag Museum in the city.

The Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly and the event participants then viewed exhibits which were displayed at the Museum. The collection of the Museum features flags of ancient states in the territory of Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan khanate.

On October 1, the Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly met with Australian Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Martin Larsen, on October 10, with Portuguese chargé d'affaires in Azerbaijan Maria João Lopes Cardoso, on October 11, with Belarussian ambassador Gennady Akhramovich, on October 20, with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Carole Mary Crofts and on October 27, with People's Artist of Azerbaijan, "Shohrat" Order holder, acclaimed composer Tofig Bakikhanov.

Complex measures in place to develop agriculture and ensure food security in the Autonomous Republic

On October 22, a closed irrigation system was launched in Nakhchivan's Kangarli district.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov attended the event. Vasif Talibov was informed that the system, which occupies a total area of 117 hectares, covers Boyukduz and Khok villages. A 2.2km-long water pipe and 9,930m-long water distribution pipes were built in the area.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Vasif Talibov described the launch of the system as a remarkable event. "Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is an agrarian and industrial region. Therefore the development of both agriculture and industry is our key priority." The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly then pressed the launch button to commission the closed irrigation system.

Vasif Talibov then visited a grain farm in Boyukduz village.

Staff of the Supreme Assembly, Cabinet of Ministers and Kangarli region Executive Authority of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic planted new mulberry gardens and orchards in Boyukduz village. The garden occupies a total area of 12 hectares. The installation of a closed irrigation network will enable a sustainable water supply here.

The event participants planted and watered 1,100 mulberry trees in an area of two hectares.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov attended the event and gave relevant instructions on planting new vineyards and orchards.

On October 10, Vasif Talibov attended the opening of a new educational complex for Nakhchivan State Technical College.

A new building of Bash Dize village secondary school was commissioned in Ordubad, Nakhchivan.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov described the opening of the school, village and service centers as a remarkable event in the life of Bash Dize village, and congratulated residents and the school staff on this occasion.

Vasif Talibov thanked those who contributed to the construction of the school building. He expressed his confidence that the school will make more achievements and join the ranks of the leading schools in the Autonomous Republic.

While reviewing the school building, Vasif Talibov hailed the importance of using libraries in the teaching process.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly viewed the chemistry and biology and physics laboratories. He noted the importance of holding teacher development trainings.

Vasif Talibov met with teachers and congratulated them.

Bash Dize village center was also inaugurated. Vasif Talibov cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the center. He inquired about conditions created for government bodies here.

There are communication centers, libraries, police and veterinary stations, regional branch of the New Azerbaijan Party, district administrative offices, municipal offices, and a 40-seat meeting room.

A new service center was also put into operation in Bash Dize village.

There is a hairdressing salon, women's beauty salon, a butcher`s, a tailor`s workshop and food and household appliances shops.

After viewing the center Vasif Talibov met with the village residents. He said that Bash Dize village became one of the flourishing settlements.

Chairman of Ordubad district branch of the New Azerbaijan Party Gurbat Rzayev expressed his gratitude for the reconstruction work carried out in the region on behalf of the village residents and party members.

During the restoration works carried out in Bash Dize village inner-village highways were also renovated. A bridge on the road was repaired, a retaining wall was built. Communication, electricity and gas lines were also repaired.

Nakhchivan television began broadcasting on www.naxcivantv.az  website in the Autonomous Republic. Vasif Talibov attended the event on this occasion on October 17.

A new residential building was also put into operation in Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Nakhchivan. Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov addressed the opening ceremony.

The Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly thanked those who contributed to the construction. He cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the building.

The 10-storey building has 32 apartments, which are provided with individual heating and central antenna systems. There is a shop on the first floor of the building. The cellar houses a warehouse and a car parking. There are two passenger and one freight elevators in the building.

Vasif Talibov viewed the shop on the first floor of the building. He noted the importance of giving preference to local products and controlling the quality of the products on sale.

Multi-apartment residential buildings renovated in Nakhchivan

Renovation of multi-apartment residential buildings in the city of Nakhchivan is underway. Residential buildings No.93 and No.99 in Istiglal Street in the city of Nakhchivan have opened after renovation.

Chairman of Nakhchivan Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov viewed the work done in the buildings.

The 5-storey buildings have 34 apartments each. The foundation of the buildings was strengthened, their facade and corridors were reconstructed. The area of each apartment was increased to 30 square metres. Doors, windows, water, sewer, electricity, gas and communication lines in the buildings were changed. A central antenna system was installed.

A landscaping work was carried out in the yard of both buildings, greenery was laid out here.

On October 25, the fourth generation mobile network was commissioned in Nakhchivan. Addressing the event, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov congratulated the event participants and the city residents on the event.

He said that Nakhchivan's Ministry of Communication and New Technologies signed an agreement with China's Huawey Technologies Company on the installation of the fourth generation mobile communication system in the Autonomous Republic.

Vasif Talibov thanked those who contributed to the establishment of the mobile communications network.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Communication and New Technologies Rovshan Mammadov hailed Nakhchivan`s achievements in the field of communication and new technologies.

Nakhchivan's Minister of Economy Famil Seyidov highlighted the new technologies in the sector of economy of the Autonomous Republic.

President of Huawey's business group on operator networks on Central Asia and the Caucasus Zhang Dong Liang praised partnership between the company and Nakhchivan's Ministry of Communication and New Technologies. He hailed the development of advanced technologies in the Autonomous Republic.

Speaking at the event, president of Azercell Telecom Limited Liability Company Vahid Mursaliyev hailed the importance of communication and new technologies in the development of the non-oil sector.

Turk Telekom's Sales Department Manager for Turkey and the Caucasus Armagan Karaege, chairman of the board of "Akgun Yazilim" company Temel Akgun and CEO of "I2I" company Ayhan Kapusuz made speeches at the event.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly then viewed the conditions created in the network. Vasif Talibov launched the 4th generation mobile communication network in the central control room.

The event then featured a congratulatory message of senior vice-president of Huawey co. Amy Lin.

Vasif Talibov gave relevant instructions to efficiently use the fourth generation mobile network capabilities and increase the number of services provided.

On October 28, an official reception to mark the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic was organized in Nakhchivan.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov attended the reception.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan`s message of congratulations to Turkey`s diplomatic missions abroad was read out at the event.

First deputy Consul General of Turkey in Nakhchivan Ahmet Ozkan highlighted the Turkish people`s struggle for independence. He drew the audience`s attention to Turkey`s development during the years of independence. Ozkan also hailed historical and brotherly ties between the Azerbaijani and Turkish people. He highlighted Nakhchivan`s role in developing Turkey-Azerbaijan ties.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov congratulated participants of the event and all the people of Turkey. He hailed strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Vasif Talibov also highlighted Nakhchivan`s contribution to the development of relations between the Azerbaijani and Turkish regions.

Production areas and warehouses of "Nakhchivan Products" Ltd was commissioned in Nakhchivan on October 31.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov attended the event.

Addressing the event, Minister of Economy of the Autonomous Republic Famil Seyidov said that the development of entrepreneurship is the focus of attention in Nakhchivan.

In his remarks, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov congratulated the staff on the occasion of the opening of "Nakhchivan Products" Ltd, saying the company aimed to promote the products manufactured in the Autonomous Republic in the domestic market.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly gave instructions on seasonal regulation of the supply of food products to state-financed enterprises, institutions and organizations.
