A Japanese citizen, employee of Mainichi news agency Hitoshi Omae has appealed to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry requesting for removal of his name from the "List of foreign citizens illegally visited the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia".

Omae had his name removed from the black list as Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Foreign Affairs accepted his official letter of apology.

In his letter, Omae noted that he was unaware about the illegality of his visit to the occupied territories without consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He expressed his regret for this visit and assured that the articles he published after the visit did not serve interests of any party. Omae reaffirmed his full respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Omae also asked to assist him in visiting Azerbaijan in order to deliver to the Japanese society more accurate and objective information about Azerbaijan as well as the conflict.
