The 11th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage has kicked off in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa.
Azerbaijan’s delegation at the event includes permanent representative to UNESCO Anar Karimov, Ambassador to Ethiopia Elman Abdullayev, Adviser of the National Commission for UNESCO Gulnara Aghalarova, head of the international cooperation department of the Tourism Ministry Vasif Eyvazzade, and others.
The session will see discussions and hear reports on the preservation of intangible cultural heritage.
The Committee will consider 37 nominations to the UNESCO Representative List, including “Flatbread making and sharing culture: Lavash, Katryma, Jupka, Yufka” initiated by Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
